How to make the most of your wedding portraits

How to make the most of your wedding portraits

Portraits are one of my favourite parts of the day, I love finding good light, little hidden gems, laughing with my couples and making the most of every single moment together.

I was once given the advice of ‘find good light, and use it.’ So simple, but it transformed the way I see the world around me. There’s no hard and fast rules to planning your wedding day, just guides to help you make the most of it.

Photography is all about finding and using the best light available. The ‘golden hour,’ the hour before sunset creates the most beautiful, soft, warm light and helps create incredible portraits. This is the ideal time for your wedding portraits as everything is softly lit by the setting sun, not to mention that it’s the perfect time of day to just take a moment, breathe in, and really be present in the moment and enjoy this beautiful part of your wedding day.

Depending on the season and the time of day, lighting conditions can vary a lot. So when we sit down to chat about your portraits I’ll always give you a heads up about what the light is most likely to be doing so we can plan together to make the very most of your portraits in every season and time of day.
